Life & Family Shoots

A young boy with blond hair, wearing a white shirt, black suspenders, and gray pants, is smiling and dancing in a grassy field. Behind him, a girl in a pink dress is sitting on the ground, and other children are partially visible nearby. A hay bale is in the foreground, and the children appear to be celebrating or playing outdoors.

Capturing Life as It Happens.

Weddings may be where the story starts, but there are so many moments worth documenting along the way.

Engagement sessions, beach shoots, maternity, newborn, family portraits - these are the chapters that shape who you are and the memories you’ll look back on for years.

My approach is relaxed and easy-going. No stiff posing, no pressure - just real moments, genuine connection, and images that feel like you. Whether we’re wandering along a Cornish beach, chasing the kids around a field, or celebrating an exciting new chapter, the goal is simple: to capture life as it unfolds.

FAQs

Here are some of the most common questions we get asked.

We have a much more detailed FAQ in our digital brochure, please get in and we will happily send you a link and answer any other questions you may have.

  • I offer relaxed family or couples photography in Cornwall, on location; including beach shoots and at-home sessions, for coverage of life events like;, pregnancy, engagement shoots and anniversaries.

  • My approach is natural and relaxed, I don’t stage or over-direct - I’ll gently guide when needed, and suggest positions and areas to shoot in - but I mostly let things unfold and capture the natural energy.

  • Anywhere that feels meaningful to you; your home, a favourite beach, woodland walk, or somewhere you love. Cornwall offers incredible backdrops for natural family photography, and I’m happy to suggest locations too.

  • That’s completely fine (and expected). As a photographer and videographer, I know the best moments often come from the chaos, and the natural unforced moments.

  • The shoot will be 1 – 1 and a half hours. It’s flexible, allowing enough time for everyone to relax so nothing feels rushed, in that time we will shoot a number of ways - more formal shots, reportage and natural interaction.

  • You’ll receive a carefully edited gallery of digital images that tell your story.

  • What you wear can make a big difference to your final images, but always wear what feels like “you”. Generally, I recommend avoiding busy patterns, logos, and too many accessories - keeping things simple, natural, and comfortable always works best. But, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and yourself.

  • The choice is yours. If the weather isn’t ideal for your photoshoot, I’m happy to reschedule. That said, I’m always prepared to work with the conditions if you’d prefer to go ahead. I’ll be in touch a couple of days before so we can decide what works best for your session.

  • I can work around your schedule, but the best light for family photography in Cornwall is usually early morning or the hour before sunset to capture the warm soft light of golden hour.

  • Absolutely - the more the merrier. These family photography sessions are about real life, so everyone important is welcome.

  • Just get in touch through the contact form and we can chat through what you’re after and find a date that works for you!

“Thank you so much for our gallery! The photos are absolutely stunning and we love them so much! We're so grateful for all your hard work and for clearly making Obi feel so comfortable on the day. We can't wait to book in again for our next family shoot in the next year or so!”
